When you finally get it off now you know don't tighten it more than you can do by hand. Next change you should be able to remove by hand but many do prefer hot oil changes. Virtually any brand of 10w fork oil will be fine. You don't need an expensive type. Cheap Wallyworld 10w fork oil is fine. Be aware that a special tool is needed to disassemble the left fork on an 1800. Also be aware that a special tool or a home-made tool is needed to drive in the fork seals on any VTX.

I add Moly paste to my final drive when changing the oil. I also have my VTX on the jack and turn the wheel so it gets 5 to 6 ounces of oil. Runs cooler..
