What would be the best army composition with 20 and 50 companions respectively? To go up against 100~300 strong regular armies. All horse archer all the way works ok, but would it be better to have a few geared as heavy infantry? All heavy twohanded footmen? They aren't invincible, but still stronger than any other soldier.I've gotten wiped with ease twice now. My next strategy is to just get half an army of cavalry and sweep through their back line multiple times. Any tips? I'm planning on building an army of around ~200 troops and so far I plan on using 50 Khan's Guards, 50 Fian Champions, 25 Sturgian Heavy Spearmen, and 25 Linebreakers.

It's either max khans guard, or combo of fians and legionary for me. The khans are best at open field, but a well placed slope defense with the foot army can just wipe the floor with anyone. It's more finicky, but it's also better for sieges as khans guards don't carry shields.

Archers will fire at a distance this makes for a weaker shot and they will run out of ammo. and troop vs troop, imp shields and Stergia axe men at top level. with perks the axes deal with shielded troops easy. I think a full Fian army would win due to the heavy archer fire then the 2 handed after, but the AI will never run this.
