Just purchased a Franchi 3.5 Affinity 3.5 for my son and if I were buying a new Turkey gun the Affinity would be my choice regardless of gauge. They are d&t, have oversized bolt, and bolt release.

Posted April 17, 2016. I have the M2 and love the gun, if I was spending the money for a brand new Franchi I'd buy a used M2. The Franchi is similar to the M2 but not the same. Like I didn't buy a different model Benelli, similar but not the same as the M2. Preference for one over the other nothing more.

Dimensions are basically the same, you would have to replace the stock bolt with a longer one, it appears to screw into the receiver, so that shouldn't be a big deal. You would have to modify the spacer between the stock and receiver. Anyhow just wanted to pass the info on. I have a pistol grip stock that I might try to put on the Affinity.

The Franchi just has a little more distance between the grip and the trigger. One other difference is the forearm is slimmer on the m2, but I have zero issues with the forearm on the affinity. Both are high quality guns. Benelli is a much higher quality that franchi. But franchi is a solid budget semi auto. Benelli will stand behind there product until your grand children own than gun. With the shim kits that come with both shotguns fit the gun to the user has never been more versatile. I personally would go with the franchi, both guns will get the job done. But the franchi to me feels like a better fit for me. My M2 20 was actually worse than the Franchi 20 in the stiff loading department. The shell catch has to be bent (which Benelli customer service did, along with lightening the trigger). Still a bit stiff, but that changes with ammo brand.
