Np205 transfer case fluid.
This couples the two together. The drive sleeve comes in contact with a grease seal on the front and the back of the adapter. The front seal keeps tranny fluid in the tranny. The back one keeps xfer lube in the xfer. This is just like the front oil seal in your timing chain cover on the front of the engine or the rear axel seal on a 1/2 ton axel.
You should consult your owners manual or a Factory Service Manual for the correct fluid specifications. If you don't have an owners manual, you really should get one. As long as the fluid has the correct label, it will work.
