Given your needs, I'd say 6" will be a little more useful to you than the 4.25". 6 inch is more burdensome to carry, extremely hard to conceal, and slower to draw. These attributes make it more of a range toy compared to the 4.25 inch model. My 6 inch revolver only comes out when I'm taking neophytes to the range.
