It has been noticed that with a one handed mace, a thrall will finish a heavy attack even when stun locked. Someone suggested once that bearer thralls have high hit points but low strength so they do better with poison weapons. Bearer thralls are pretty good archers because they can hold a lot of arrows like snake (poison) arrows for purges.

Nerfing Thralls and buffing players wont change much of anything. The entire combat system for both players and NPCs would need to be scrapped and rebuilt from scratch to actually change things. Too many bosses have absurdly large attacks and instant turning, crazy high HP. Every hit staggers you, archers are aim bots, etc.
