4 posts · Joined 2021. #1 · Feb 16, 2021. I have a 550 S4. XUV that runs and idles great and even accelerates great at a idle. When you put it in gear it will crawl and low speeds. When you accelerate after you put it in gear it kills the engine. It looks like a clutch to me any ideas. Like.

I'd worry about weld distortion and keeping the belt contact surface as designed, but given the price I'd consider giving it a shot. I've had a THD6x4 for 15 years. I'm on my 2nd belt. I've pulled massive loads up 30+% hills. I've done likewise with a log tote. I've locked the axles and pulled crazy stuff. I've smelled the belt. I've had to shut down due to engine overheat. I've kind of pushed the limit many times. But my "clutch" is fine.

The first number is largely responsible for the clutch engagement rpm while the second number controls how the clutch upshifts.
jd772. may have to remove a wheel to check voltage when you unplug connector from solenoid. also check the grounds. check to make sure brake switch is operating .it is tied in to wire circuit. and throttle switch. it should indicate on dash the 4x4 ,also may hear the solenoid with engine off and switch activated.

Hi Thanks for answering, The bolt that holds the clutch to the crank shaft is the one that breaks. I have seen other posts of the same thing. Deere could have not had this problem if they would have just put a spring in there to lower engagement pressure. MBDiagMan.
