I also am not a fan of pistol grip shotguns. For me, the pistol grip slows down transitions.

3 posts · Joined 2003. #8 · Sep 30, 2003. i have a nova 12 ga. and really like it! all the features the gun has is great for the price you pay. the 870 may be a little cheaper but it wont put up with the abuse the nova does. if you are choosing to buy one, go with the benelli over the express!!The quality and specs of these 2 guns is beyond the Mossberg 500 and a used Remington 870. The barrel on the Mossberg is parkerized while the receiver on the Supernova is encased inside polymer to guard against rust. Both never jam.
