The LCP is a little hard at first but it shouldn't be anything like that difficult. I'd say have a gunsmith check it out or contact Ruger. I have an LCP and while it was stiff it was not even as hard to work the slide as my SR9 was. Four people at a gun shop not being able to rack it sounds bad.
