The JD790 has the valves mounted on the rockshaft case under the seat. THe 990 rockshaft case is a different configuration. There is a valve on the top under the seat, and another valve on the left side of the case. JD offers a kit for each valve. P/N AM876765 fits the side valve; P/N CH13559 fits the valve on the top.

Tractor. John Deere 990 ran out of diesel fuel. Coasted off a bank and tried to restart. Cranked briefly then refilled with fuel. Started but had to bleed. Ran rough and discovered 1st cylinder closest to dash is not firing. All other cylinders are firing good. Removed and cleaned injector for that cylinder. No change.
