There are some exceptions for good, reasonable priced food on the north end of 5th Ave (the quiet end). Try El Güero Marisquerìa Veracruzana or Muy Salsa, (both at 40th & 5th) or La Cueva Del Chango (38th off 5th toward the beach). These restaurants have excellent food and drinks without the 5th Ave. prices!

A group of four of us came here 1/12/24 for a week to celebrate 3 out of 4 of us birthdays. We got out of the St. Louis area just in time as the -30 windchill hit the next day. The weather was perfect in Playa del Carmen @ 84 degrees every day. Then resort pool was perfectly cool and refreshing.
