You pay a premium for them used. Rav4 less than a 4Runner or, god forbid, Tacoma but it's a premium nonetheless. Their new prices are within the realm of reasonable. Nothing holds its value like a Toyota truck. RAV4 mpg combined was around 40. Camry mpg combined is around 48. Road and wind noise on the Camry are much quieter. Comfort on Camry is much higher. I’d rather have a Camry for a road trip. I also enjoy the sporty look with paddle shifters (useless for hybrid) on the SE Camry. The CX50 and RAV4 adventure/trd seem to be similar in what they can do. The RAV imo has the better awd system but I haven’t had a chance to see and feel the Mazda. The RAV seems to struggle with power so the CX50’s turbo drivetrain is very compelling. The Mazda CX-50 is the quintessential egg shaped boring crossover.

If a new hybrid rav4 is $35k and lasts 200k+ miles, 5k for that car is ok if you need a car today and have a backup car, because all the surprise mechanical issues will emerges towards the end of a cars life. Rav is our adventure-mobile and the Camry is the on the town date night car. The Rav has more creature comforts such as a power lift gate, but the Camry has a nicer quality of interior in my opinion. Today, I went to test drive a 2007 V6 RAV4 with over 160,000 miles for my friend. I don't drive fast cars every day and the fastest I've driven was a 2012 Challenger r/T with the V8 HEMI. But, this 2gr-fe on that small compact SUV feels way faster than anything else I've driven recently. I still don't know why the 2gr-fe in other Lexus/Toyota ... On the newer model rav4 they have dynamic torque vectoring where there is disconnects on each rear wheel to help with load distribution, for sending torque to one wheel, and to help with the fuel consumption ...
