Farming them for the past few days I learned a few things to make your time quicker. You only need to know 2 things. 1. Item discovery equips do nothing to help to soul drop rate. 2. Summons do help the drop rate, by a lot. I farmed souls without summoning with drop equips for two days and got only 1 soul per every 3 times i fell down the hole.
