The SD has lower gain than an AC booster (feels like it) but cleans up better. If you're interested in a DD-ish pedal with a mids knob, check out the GCX. It has the gain changer/LTD flavor, but with a mids knob like I said. Has all the gain you will probably need since the DD/GC has a lot of gain.
