Yes you can probably bolt the 5-speed auto tranny from the Camry to the Scion's engine but you will have to swap the ECU from the Camry as well as the Scion ECU is not designed for a 5-speed auto, just the 4-speed. They also get into 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 point cages. The more points, the more your chassis is connected. There is currently NO bolt in, or weld in pre made roll cages for the Scion xB. And that is an issue. #1 suspect if you hear the belt squeal when you turn the AC on is a loose belt. If you have, then it's a good idea to disconnect the battery negative, wait a minute or so, and then reconnect to force the ECU to relearn the engine behavior.
