International clays will work in 12 gauge and 20 gauge loads. I agree with Bill M. on using two powders. Plus, while International is a great 20 gauge powder for 20 ga. guns, it is a tube cracker in a tubed gun. I like Clays for 12 and WSF for 20.

But, nobody should rely on load data given on a discussion web as gospel. They should go by the loading manual or call the powder manufacturer if an unlisted substitution is considered.

Titegroup is also used for 1 1/8 loads in 12 gauge. Titegroup has numerous shotgun loads in the Hodgdon manual. It isn't just a pistol powder. Many good shotgun powders are also pistol powders. Being used in pistol shouldn't be an issue. Clays, e3, Unique, Red Dot, 700X and many others double as pistol/shotgun powders.

Comparable to what's already posted I'm about halfway through my first 8 lbs jug of Clay Dot alternating between 1 oz and 7/8 oz loads using Remington hulls, Nobel primers, and Claybuster wads (specifically CB1100-12, CB0178 and CB4100). I'm averaging drops of 18.2 grains using a MEC 32 bushing.All loads patterned well, and shot consistently over the chronograph. When I began comparing 3/4 oz 12Ga versus 3/4 oz 20GA, I found that the patterns were slightly better coming out of the smaller 20GA hull, so I just stuck with that. FWIW, you will need the CB0178-12 wads. They are the same style as the CB1100-12 wads stated in the data, but just different enough to give the right wad column height. I've tried 7/8 (24 gram) loads using the CB100-12 and you aren't going to like the dished crimps.
