Shells stuck in rough, unpolished chambers, weak ejection/stovepiping because of MIM parts, finishes that rust while the gun is on the store shelf, etc. A fore end is the part you grip, to pump the shotgun. Maverick 88 and Mossberg 500 have different slide assemblies, the part the fore end attaches to. This would make changing out the fore end, impossible without changing the assembly.
