r/Serverlife • got my first negative notes the other day and haven't stopped thinking about it. they were looking for excuses not to tip from the very beginning but it doesn't make me feel any better :-( the crying $0.00 hurts the most Sunday mornings $140-$200 Sunday nights $100-$150. I mostly work the service well so this includes tip out. Generally between $300-$400+ per 4 hour shift. For me, once I hit $100 and I can breathe a sigh of relief, but I can usually guarantee $200. My current place is just 4 training shifts, no tips. I was a bit salty when I bartended, did equal work, was not actually being trained because I knew what I was doing already, and didn’t even get a courtesy tip out after our bar made over $700 in tips for the shift. Hibachi restaurant in my area chef and server split it 50/50. I’m a long time bartender and eat at Benihanna too often lol.
