A Brief History of the Village of Tigerton. The Village of Tigerton was incorporated as a village in 1896 and is located on the banks of the South Branch of the Embarrass River. It has a population of about 750 people. The Lake Shore Railroad first came through the Tigerton area in 1879-80. At that time, it went as far north as Eland.
