For most you shift each gear. 1 low to 1 high then 2 low to 2 high etc. A Clark 5 +2 is different you go 4 low to 5 low then 4 high to 5 high. To go from low to high pull the button up and let off the gas. It will shift on its own. For high to low push the button in then step on the gas.
