I purchased a R134A kit and a local auto store, following the instruction on how to use it. For a minute or so, as the freon flowed into the low pressure port, the clutch kept cycling on and off, then to my great shock, the clutch cycled on and stayed engaged. It took the entire can, but now the A/C works just great.
