These are the two that I use the most. You can get the axe from the farmable tauros demons near the lava pools by the demon ruins.Weapon buffs like Dark Weapon are much stronger on infused weapons, but you run the risk of dealing less damage against enemies with high elemental resistance. Physical damage of all types is more consistently useful.
