Lim gasket 3800.
I decided to replace ALL the gaskets in my 3800SC (out of a '97 Regal GS). Expectedly, after tearing into it, the LIM gasket is failing. I am looking for a COMPLETE gasket set (including solid aluminum LIM). I was looking at ZZP's "Engine Gasket Set" ($170). Not included, are the Felpro head gaskets ($23 each). Can anybody attest to whether or not these are good quality gaskets? Any other
Jan 15, 2011 · AS for LIM gaskets though, they do fail on the Series 2 3800's, but don't confuse the problems with the Series 1 3800's. Those will go 200k on original LIM gaskets without a problem. Well I looked again, and not to be combative, and yes they do look different, but for both 1998 and 2004 GP GT 3800 non supercharged models the ATP plastic replacement plenum is the exact same part. Dunno if that's normal, but I don't think it is. I'm, going to take a straight edge to the LIM and the cylinder heads tomorrow, and by wednesday, hopefully, I'll be finished up. I had checked to see that all bolts were at 11 ft lbs and discovered those were loose. They were then torqed to 11ft lbs. Jul 18, 2023 · The intake gaskets weren't updated to Aluminum until after (~2012) all 3800's stopped being produced (2008). Therefore, no 3800 ever cane with them originally. If you see black edge on your LIM gaskets, near the injectors, they haven't been upgraded to aluminum versions (some cheaper knock offs now exist, along with AC Delco ones).

It's kinds tricky to find since it's called an intake plenum gasket. It comes with the two o-rings that are go between the lim and the supercharger. You should replace the coolant elbows while you are doing all this other stuff.
