Lately I've had a hard time finding a good scary book to read. I read all of Stephen King (Salem's Lot) and Dean Koontz (Phantoms) books. Peter Straub (Ghost), Dan Simmons (Summer of Night) they're okay but not some of my favorite. I decided to give other horror authors a chance and found a few I actually enjoyed.

They're favorites in our house to read both together and apart. First on the list is "Kid Engineer: Intro to Engineering" by Marc Chamberlain. This book is an excellent introduction to engineering and science for kids. It explores basic engineering concepts in an engaging and kid-friendly manner. Then there was the time in the early eighties when the man who killed John Lennon and the man who stalked Jodie Foster and shot Ronald Reagan both claimed they did so after becoming obsessed with Catcher in The Rye.
