Franchise mode im assuming (THATS ALL I PLAY) Generally its b/c of Fatigue. Check out their Stamina if its low theres a good changce they play ALOT LESS. My Mobile QB is inaccurate slow and even fumbles way more b/c hes exhausted which is sorta cool I know TWO fixes Both are under the Main Menu in Franchise mode.

Bills playbook for instance has the 3rd down back in for almost every shotgun package. You can also change your substitution settings in the sliders to where they won’t sub when tired.

They play maybe one snap at the start of the game and from then onwards, pretty much most starters (except the qb, oline and some defence) are replaced by the substitutes. Once progressive fatigue happens in a season, turning it off just stops more fatigue but it does not reset it. Meaning, if your players are at 70% stamina and you turn PF off, they don't go back to 100% until they rest (off-season). You have to start with PF off.
