Melee doesn't have the fire rate to make the 12 hits needed. Its good for early in a run, but falls off very quickly. I would say that Melee doesn't really synergize the best with Tao. It's got a place in several of the dog builds. Supply Depot-15% damage and uses ammo from reserve before the magazine. Taking this perk means you no longer have to reload. It's amazing for every dog build. If you have a gun that gives lucky shot percentage as the magazine approaches zero, then empty the magazine to 1 before picking up supply depot.
REINCARNATION 8, LONE WOLF 4, INDEPENDANT FORTUNESThis is imo the most viable build on Tao.
Turtle does more damage (melee) the faster he moves. Turtle is the easiest to get to an op state and the most consistent. Build synergy is key. Tao with a blossom build and an illusion. I always had successfull runs when going on granades which Summon swords, then I went on the defensive skill that gives me max. Shield for every sword that's sommoned, combined with the 50% chance of not consuming grenades that's pretty nice.
